Focus in the Field

The Interactive Classroom is Land At Home’s annual gathering helping you find your natural starting point in the agriculture industry, or identifying specific areas to grow your existing endeavor.

This isn’t a lecture series; it’s a strategic workshop focused on translation. We help you map your existing military skills directly to agricultural production. Whether you are looking for your first step in agriculture or scaling your current operation, you will leave with a clearer direction and a stronger network.

The Experience: Set against the backdrop of the historic White Stallion Ranch in Tucson, you’ll connect with like-minded veterans and established local producers who are ready to grow your network.

Why Attend?

Get to know your personal strengths and abilities, figure out how your abilities fit into your agricultural aspirations, build your network, and identify your next step! All in a one day event held at the scenic White Stallion Ranch!

Skill Translation: Learn how your existing military skills apply to agriculture.

Christina Ballejos

Christina Ballejos, PhD, RN, CNS is a program design and improvement expert with deep experience using Six Sigma–based methods to help organizations work better. She partners with teams to design improvement programs that are practical, easy to use, and focused on real results.

Her work centers on creating simple tools and clear processes that help people understand how work actually happens, identify what’s getting in the way, and fix problems at the system level. Christina is especially skilled at breaking down complex improvement methods into steps that anyone can follow and apply right away.

Rather than producing reports or theoretical models, she focuses on execution—helping implement changes that deliver immediate, measurable improvements and continue to work long after the initial effort ends.

Angela Czaja

MAJ Angela Czaja is a seventh-generation farmer from rural Wisconsin, where she developed a lifelong connection to the land and livestock. Since 2009, she has served in the U.S. Army Reserves, gaining diverse leadership experience that sharpened her skills in problem-solving, adaptability, and mission-focused work.

Her passion for regenerative agriculture took root when she and her husband began homesteading, inspiring them to adopt and champion regenerative grazing practices. Today, Angela applies that passion on a larger scale, leading regenerative grazing projects on military installations. Angela developed and oversees a hands-on training program that equips veterans with practical skills and clear pathways into regenerative agriculture.

Eric Czaja

MAJ Eric Czaja is an Army Special Forces officer who leads the Naval Postgraduate School’s Regenerative Grazing Open Air Lab (R-GOAL). His interest in regenerative agriculture began while deployed in Africa, and since 2018 he and his family have practiced regenerative grazing at a small scale.

In 2024, that experience evolved into R-GOAL, a first-of-its-kind initiative implementing Adaptive Multi-Paddock grazing on Department of War land to strengthen warfighter readiness, reduce wildfire fuel loads, restore training areas, improve water infiltration and biodiversity with plans to scale across the DoW’s 26 million acres.
